In This Review
Peddi is Ram Charan’s rural sports drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana (Uppena), released in five languages on 4 June 2026.
Story (No Spoilers)
After India’s weak 2016 Olympic showing, a sports ministry official (Boman Irani) visits a remote Andhra village where young athletes call a man named Peddi their inspiration. The film then goes back to 1994 to tell Peddi’s story, from a marginalised tribal hamlet and his wrestling coach Gournaidu (Shiva Rajkumar).
Reception and Box Office
Critics praised Ram Charan, Shiva Rajkumar and Jagapathi Babu, but criticised the screenplay and runtime. It grossed about ₹330–337 crore, the top Telugu film of 2026, but underperformed in other markets against its budget.
