In This Review
Cocktail 2 is a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit Cocktail, again directed by Homi Adajania, with a story by Luv Ranjan.
Story (No Spoilers)
Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), a restaurant manager, and his architect girlfriend Diya (Rashmika Mandanna) take a trip to Sicily to escape questions about marriage. There they meet Diya’s college friend Ally (Kriti Sanon) — and Diya asks Ally to flirt with Kunal to test his commitment.
Performances
Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna look great together, but the script gives them little depth.
Music and Reception
Pritam’s songs with Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics, including “Jab Talak” and “Tujhko”, are the highlight. Reviews were mostly negative (21% on Rotten Tomatoes), with one critic noting that the women “appear sillier and sillier as the 150-minute film drags on”.
Box Office and OTT
It grossed about ₹143.6 crore worldwide against a reported ₹150 crore budget, and has been streaming on Netflix since 14 August 2026.
